Lila,
Happy 1st Birthday sweet girl! A year ago, I was meeting for the first time what is now so familiar to me. You are exactly what I've always hoped for. How did I get so lucky? How did I ever live without your love, your hugs, and your smiles? I can't picture my life now, without you.
I love everything about you, right down to your little stinky feet. I love the way you chant my name in the morning "La-ra, La-ra, La-ra" awaiting your bottle. I love your smile. I love your beautiful green eyes on some days and your big blue eyes on others. You lucked out in the eye department. I love your two tiny teeth. I love that you will eat anything I put in front of you, and yet you remain my petite princess. I hope that follows you throughout life. I love how much you love pancakes. You can eat 2-3 in one sitting. I love that you will eat Cheerio's and not spill a single one, but when you eat cookies they get everywhere. I love that you always eat the green goldfish first, but then eat the rest in no order at all. Your daddy says it's because you're half Irish. I think it's because you're just that smart.
You love to dance. You get completely serious and wave your hands to the beat. Both your dad and I hope you'll have more rhythm than we do. I love when you reach up for me. I love that when I pick you up and we're finally hugging, you pat my back and rest your head on my chest. It's my favorite thing about you. I can feel all of your love in just one hug. I love the way you study my face, and everything I do. I can just look at your eyes and know you're learning something. You love to watch me cook. You sit in your chair and call out for me so you can have a taste. Your auntie Adri will be glad to know you have a passion for food. I love the kisses you blow to me when you're in daddy's arms. I love how much we love you.
This has been the first of so many amazing years ahead. I can't picture myself loving you more than I already do, but somehow, each day I do. Although I will forever miss the days when we first brought you home, the nights you would fall asleep on my chest so comfortably, and the way I could just swaddle you in my arms and feel complete, I look forward to the rest of our days together. I love you Lila. Happy birthday.

Lila's First Christmas!
Christmas was great this year, and with little Lila to help us celebrate, it was definately one to remember! Here's a quick slideshow of her opening her presents on christmas morning! Check out the awesome pj's!
She got so many toys! I had to rearrange her room to give her more space to play with them all! Here's her playing with them all!
In the last two, she pulled out the basket with all her socks and threw them on the other side of the gate! I don't know why, but she seemed to like it :] Look at her crazy face!
Also, lila has curly hair somedays, and others, straight. It's kind of weird.. Here's a shot of her curls!
One night, Auntie Adri watched lila for us and she was swo tired, she just knocked out in her arms!
She just loves her aunt :]
Lila of course, with her 8:30 bedtime, was not awake to celebrate the new year, but we were!
We got a Dog! That's right. The Lewis' are officially Dog owners. Her name is Lucy, and she's about 2 years old. She's fully house trained, and super sweet!
Lila also has the newly aquired skill of drawer opening! She's very skilled too. She enjoys opening them and crawling in!
Since the camera was out, I started taking some Mom and lila pictures :]
She was munching on goldfish, so her face is a little dirty, but she's still a cutie. In this one, she was dancing! it kind of looks like she's just lounging though!
We went to Midland this past weekend and visited a duck pond!

As promised..
So in the last few weeks I found my camera cord and was just too lazy to load all the pictures. Sorry guys. but now..as promised... here it is! First, a slide show of Lila's sweet moments. There's some bath time, Christmas tree putting up, and some night night shots.
She's just getting so big so quickly! She is now also the proud owner of her very first tooth! Congratulations Boo! She was very excited. Also, She's been on the verge of walking. She now stands for little moments, but then she realizes she's standing and down she goes. We have to work up her confidence. :) here's a short video of Lila bear taking off on her toy. She does it for longer [usually until she hits a wall] but as soon as she sees the camera she stops. Crazy girl. Well, she was just looking cute in this one.. trying to scratch her nose i think..
In this one she only takes a few steps with her toy, but usually she'll take off on that thing until she hits a dead end..
Lila also played with a puppy! She kept opening her mouth trying to taste Sadie.
During Thanksgiving, my sister came into town and it was bath time in the Lewis house. Lila knows better than to eat dirty bubbles from the tub, but Momma said nothing about the yummy bubbles in the cup! She sticks her hand in the cup, collects bubbles, and in her mouth they go. Let's watch.

I don't know what's going on here, but you can see the growth of her sweet hair. It's finally growing in! It's not much, but its coming down over her ear and on her neck! yay!

Well, In a few days [this time for sure!!] I will post pictures of lila's first Christmas!! Can you stand the excitement!? Ripping gift paper, eating holiday cookies and Christmas food, playing with all her new toys... it's gonna be pretty great.

Updates
First, Brian has lost my camera cord, so when he gets home later, I'll update with pictures.
- Lila is growing and growing and growing. She's still very petite and slim, but she's very very long! It stinks, because she fits pants for older kids, but the waist doesn't fit her! I have to alter them to make sure they stay on her waist. Poor kid.
- She's a climber! She climbs on us, on the couches, and now, she piles stuff in front of tables to climb on them! She tries to climb out of her crib too. I enjoy her braveness, but I'm so scared she'll actually fall off one day.When She climbs up on the couch, she'll sit like a big girl, eat a cracker or two, and then try to get off nose first. She's crazy sometimes!
- Stamps are a rarity in our house. Brian leaves them around on a table, and Lila is then covered in 42 cent stickers.
- I am dead set on putting a bow on Lila. They are the clip on kind, so she'll keep them on for a little while and then rip them off her head. This has made for a bald spot on the side of her head. Gah! i guess its back to the headbands.
- Lila loves grocery shopping! Well, she loves any activity where there's a lot of people around her telling her she's cute. She literally draws a crowd. People crowd around her and wave and smile and baby talk to her and call her cute and pretty and say how pretty her eyes are. Lila LOVES it. She coos and makes this sweet shy face (which is totally fake) and then she'll give me this look like "hahahaha. they love me." Yes. My kid really is that cute. That, or people here are just really amazed by little white kids. I don't know.
Gah. New videos coming up, Lila doing crazy cute things and what not. Also, Lila's first Thanksgiving pictures and videos coming soon!

The Many faces of Lila.
